Role:
The Accounts Payable performs accounting support functions, to include but not limited to, accounts payable and receivables; shared branching, gift card, ATM, debit card, and credit card settlements and prepares the reconciliations for these items; coordinates records retention; provides information and performs research for employees, vendors, and third-party processors; and performs miscellaneous general ledger entries and reconciliations of Soarion Credit Union.
What you will be doing:
- Accounts payable and receivable responsibilities include: creates, verifies, and maintains vendor records/files; processes invoices attaining approvals and proper general ledger coding; performs invoice entries; issues vendor checks and ensures timely and accurate payments to vendors.
- Prepares and issues annual 1099 NEC and MISC forms for vendors and Board of Directors spousal expenses.
- Receives supply request forms, verifies, distributes and maintains the inventory of the Accounting Department supplies.
- Balances and reconciles general ledgers; performs cost and branch accounting; and posts and balances charge-off accounts.
- Coordinates all activity regarding records retention.
- Accurately and efficiently provides employees, vendors and third-party processors with information and researches outstanding issues.
- Balances daily credit union transactions for the branches, vaults and member activities and applies them to the general ledger. Analyzes and reconciles all assigned general ledger and bank accounts within applicable time constraints.
- Performs other job-related duties required or assigned.
What you'll bring along:
- A two-year college degree, or completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
- 1-3 years of similar or related experience.
- Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
- Basic Excel Knowledge required
- General Ledger reconciliation experience is a plus
