SUMMARY:

The Body Shop Parts Counterperson is responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.

EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION:

  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday / Daylight AM Shift

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Three years of heavy-duty (Class 7 & Class 8) truck parts experience required

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company insurability standards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds (man-powered and mechanically powered equipment is available for assistance). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Provide high level of service to internal and external customers.
  • Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
  • Keep orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special order parts.
  • Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
  • Answer incoming phone calls as needed.
  • Perform daily inventory cycle counts.
  • Stocks shelves and reorders out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
  • Notify the Shop Foreman and or the Body Shop Manager when special ordered parts have been received.
  • Follow-up on back-ordered parts
  • Verifies will-call and back-order files weekly and returns to vendors, or stocks those items not picked up or required.
  • Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization
  • Keeps front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered; keeps current on new products and product updates.
  • Take parts to techs as necessary.
  • Adhere to and promote all existing health and safety policies in the workplace to reinforce the Hunter culture of a safe work environment
