A Day In the Life: Retail Executive Account Manager

Essential Functions:

This position will be responsible to the Retail and Foodservice business areas of Certified Angus Beef LLC.

 This will include, but is not limited to:

  • Identifying and capitalizing on growth and development opportunities with assigned accounts.
  • Regular updates to internal teams on status of assigned accounts.
  • Monthly reviews of sales plan implementation.
  • Regular input on account maintenance.
  • New account development
  • Training and orientation of new licensees.

 

Responsible for key accounts within a defined region. This will include, but is not limited to:

  • Regular contact with key personnel at assigned accounts.
  • Implementation of marketing, merchandising, and educational strategies of the yearly sales plan for assigned accounts to help facilitate their success with the Certified Angus Beef ®
  • Account visitation, as needed, to evaluate key account status.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews for assigned accounts.

 

Responsible for contributing ideas and information in the following areas:

  • Development of the yearly sales plan.
  • Company-wide publications.
  • Development of seminar and annual conference content and activities.

 

Responsible for maintaining compliance with all brand-licensing guidelines with assigned accounts:

  • Will cooperate with and assist the Brand Assurance Division on Certified Angus Beef ® trademark and licensing violations.
  • Will cooperate with the Brand Managers team on all promotional activities involving assigned accounts.


Travel: Amount of travel will vary depending on territory and location within that territory. Approximate weekly travel, including air travel could be 40-50%, overnight travel could be 20-30%.   


EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

Education/Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.  Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, in sales, marketing, hospitality, agriculture, or a related field; and
  • A minimum of three to five years of retail sales experience and/or marketing experience.
  • Meat industry experience is desirable.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent problem solving skills, with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to effectively present technical information to management and industry representatives.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, exercise judgment and initiative.
