Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Compensation: $95K pr/yr

Job Type: Full-Time and In-person position, 7am-3pm, Monday - Friday


Collaborating with a Skilled Nursing Facility in Ithaca, NY 14850 that is seeking a SLP

SLP Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the acquisition of adaptive communication devices and provide comprehensive instruction to residents on their use.
  • Customize therapy activities based on residents' physical and mental capacity, intelligence level, and interests.
  • Work closely with the rehabilitation team to determine the most suitable therapeutic regimens for each resident.
  • Instruct residents in the skills and techniques required for participation in activities, and assess their progress and behavior.
  • Adapt therapy programs to meet the unique needs of individual residents.
  • Participate in resident care, staffing, and other meetings to ensure the best possible care.
  • Conduct training programs and share expertise with medical, nursing, and other personnel in speech therapy techniques.
  • Oversee supportive personnel in line with state and professional standards.
  • Uphold our commitment to delivering the highest quality of service in a compassionate atmosphere that respects residents' needs and rights.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language curriculum certified by the American Speech/Language/Hearing Association.
  • Licensed in NYS.
  • Eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech/Language/Hearing Association.
