We are looking for an experienced Lighting Technician Lead for the San Antonio, TX Branch Location.

Job Summary

The Lighting Engineer will prepare, organize, and solve all lighting needs before, during, and after a Show. In charge of the internal structure and organization of the department; overlooking the gear and labor of the sub-departments like Rigging Electricians and lighting techs.

Summary of essential job functions

  • Collect and organize all the information of the event (reviews last quotations, equipment list, stage plans, connection diagrams, dimmers, consoles patch, etc.) and supervisor events that require lighting equipment.
  • Supervise all lighting equipment, from the making of the connections diagram to the complete client satisfaction, always having in mind the excellence and quality that the Company offers.
  • Supervise set-ups, operations, and strikes preventing needs.
  • Assist with the set-ups and supervise freelance staff assigned to this activity.
  • Maintain, and create when necessary, all lighting connection diagrams.
  • Attends conference calls and pre-production meetings to know what kind of needs the event will require.
  • In charge of the detailed connection of lighting equipment and reviews the execution and adjustments of each element of the lighting circuit.
  • In charge of the operation of lighting equipment and programming of the boards.
  • Guide and support lighting technicians, always looking and exceeding the company standards, while always looking for training opportunities for their team.
  • In charge of the last-minute changes and attending to the needs that the other departments may have to make these changes happen. In these cases, work with other technicians to coordinate the equipment requirements given to the Show Coordinator.

Minimum Requirements

ELECTRICITY:

  • Wide knowledge related to electricity. Design of electronic systems (Dimmers, Lamps, motors, etc.)
  • Knowledge in the prevention of “short circuits” and “live” lighting handling
  • Use of motors
