A Carter Lumber Wall Panel Designer - Commercial Multi-Family is responsible for designing plans for the quoting and production of wall panels. The selected candidate will also ensure customers blueprint drawings are accurately and timely produced. Requires the knowledge of commonly used framing concepts and practices within the construction industry. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.


Requirements to be Considered for this Position:

  • Experience in designing multifamily, commercial, custom & production wall panels
  • General computer knowledge
  • Experience with MiTek and/or equivalent wall panel design software. 
  • Attention to detail, takes pride in quality of work
  • Efficient and able to complete orders within a given deadline
  • Knowledge of standard construction practices, codes, and carpentry
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills


Responsibilities:

CMF Wall Panel Designers need to follow the responsibilities define in the corresponding “Responsibilities and Duties” document. The items listed on that document may be changed or modified at any time in accordance with the needs of the business. Any changes will be communicated in writing to each associate before being enforced.

Design

CMF Wall Panel Designers will support Carter manufacturing locations by designing Multi-Family and Commercial projects as assigned by the CMF Design Manager. Each designer is responsible for creating wall panel placement diagrams and engineered drawings for both submittals and production. Designers are expected to follow all Carter Standards and to comply with Carter Design Responsibilities.

Communication

CMF Wall Panel Designers are expected to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. Documentation and follow-up of all communication is essential to the success of the group and is required after every phone call and Teams call.

Peer-to-Peer Interaction

CMF Wall Panel Designers must support their fellow coworkers by sharing knowledge and assisting with workloads when required. CMF Corporate Design should be an environment where designers can grow and contribute to the strength of the team.

Physical Aspects
Ability to spend long periods of time on the phone, Ability to type and sit for long periods of time.
