Title: Senior Financial Analyst
Location: Hauppauge, NY

Salary: 100k- 120k/ Year

Our client is looking for a Senior Finance Analyst based in Hauppauge, NY, with a new office location in Great River, NY, effective from 6/2024. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Senior Finance Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the financial planning and analysis team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Handling various complex financial functions such as budgeting, auditing, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Collaborating across functions, including contracts, operations, and project management.
  • Creating, maintaining, and updating financial databases and spreadsheets and generating various financial reports as required.
  • Preparing and filing financial reports with the parent company, along with performing financial analyses and generating reports and recommendations for management review.
  • Formulating indirect rates/indirect cost budgets and preparing company direct labor and indirect rate proposals for submittal to applicable government and other entities.
  • Monitoring and assessing the financial impact of changes to indirect rates, rate pools, and allocations to program budgets, revenue generation, and profitability.
  • Forecasting and tracking internal research and development as well as bid and proposal projects.
  • Recommending new methods and processes related to the financial analysis function and presenting them to senior management.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as DAR, FAR, and other government regulations.
  • Supporting audits and analysis of the organization's direct and indirect costs, and reviewing their practices and procedures.
  • Supporting, communicating, reinforcing, and defending the organization's mission, values, and culture.

Requirements for this role include:

  • A Bachelor's degree in finance with 5+ years of directly related experience, including a thorough knowledge of DAR/FAR and other applicable government regulations (or equivalent combination of education/training and experience).
  • An MBA/CPA/CMA is preferred, along with defense contractor experience.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including pivot tables, V/X Lookups, and macros.
  • Experience with financial systems such as Deltek CostPoint, SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, TM1, or similar.
  • Knowledge of Deltek COBRA is a plus.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and budgeting skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across the organization.
  • A strong understanding of government regulations, including Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
