Histology Laboratory Technician

Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking an experienced Histology Lab Tech for a direct-hire (permanent) position with one of industry partners in the Twin Cities area. Job Summary: Responsible for preparing and staining tissue specimens for microscopic examination and diagnosis.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM
- Can be flexible to an earlier start time (~6:00AM) if preferred
Job Type: direct-hire (permanent)
Pay Range:
- Associate Histology Technician (0 experience): $22-24/hour
- Histology Technician (1 year of experience): $28-31/hour
- Senior Histology Technician (3 years with ASCP certification, 5 years without): $30-35/hour
Essential Functions:
- Routine tissue trimming, processing, embedding, sectioning, and slide staining.
- Operate and maintain lab equipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Handle and dispose of lab solutions and reagents.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
- Maintain study and department records.
- Follow instructions/SOPs; minimize rework.
- Collaborate with the Pathology and Necropsy Teams.
- Assist in training new staff.
- Plan lab work schedules to meet deadlines.
- Participate in data and document review.
- Prepare slides with special stains as requested.
- Order and maintain supplies.
- Recognize and deviate from accepted practice as needed.
- Work under supervision; minimal instruction on routine work.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
