Pay Rate: $20-34/HR (Depending on experience) with a 14% 2nd shift differential

Schedule: Mon-Thur 3:15PM-1:45AM with voluntary OT on Fridays 

Location: Columbia, CT

Duration: Permanent position with benefits

What’s a typical day as a CNC Vertical Lathe Operator? You’ll be:

• Performing proper set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories.

• Performing tool changes and monitoring tool wear.

• Monitoring part cycle time and meeting expectations.

• Reading, understanding, and working to company Operation Sheets.

• Completing in-process inspection checks utilizing calipers, micrometers, and height gages.

• Ensuring that every machine procedure is done in accordance with the strict guidelines of the company.

• Inspecting the work area and machines used during the day prior to leaving at the end of each shift.

• Following all company safety protocols.

• Maintaining tooling in good working order and performing required tooling maintenance.

• Performing preventative maintenance on machinery per procedures.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

• Have a high school diploma/GED (Associate degree preferred).

• Have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience using production CNC VTL machinery.

• Possess strong basic math skills.

• Have a proven history of working with gauges, calipers, and other inspection equipment.

• Are able to accurately read blueprints.

• Are able to lift a maximum of 25 pounds and stand for an eight-hour shift.

• Are committed to quality, safety, and communication.

• Are a team player.
