The Health Information Manager has the authority delegated by the Quality / Risk Management Director to manage daily operation for Lourdes Medical Center and Lourdes Counseling Center: Health Information Management, Transcription and Coding. Establish systems and procedures for the distribution and use of health records throughout the facilities. Responsible for the selection, training, and performance evaluation of department personnel. The Health Information Manager will also act as the Privacy Officer for Lourdes Health Network.

EDUCATION
- Education: Prefer Associate’s Degree in Health Information Management with national Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification.
- Experience: Current knowledge in Health Information Management. Current knowledge of The Joint Commission (TJC), Department of Social Health Services (DOHS), Quality Regulatory Requirements, State and Federal regulations. Possess good verbal and written communication skills. Prefer previous hospital health information experience.
- Required Certification: Registered Health Information Administrator/Registered Health Information Technician or must be eligible to take exam within one (1) year of hire; Certified Coding Specialist or must be eligible to take exam within one (1) year of hire.
- Required License: Must have/obtain a current Washington State Driver’s License, liability insurance to use personal vehicle and/or LHN Company vehicles for LHN business purposes.
- Other: Bilingual and/or English-Spanish speaking preferred. Ability to work with culturally diverse population.

- Live and Promote the Mission and Values of Lourdes Health Network.
- Plan, develop and organize HIM Department.
- Manage the daily operations for the Health Information Management Department.
- Monitor all medical record information according to regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain job descriptions pertaining to HIM Department.
- Complete performance evaluations for department staff.
- Evaluate and coordinate computer accesses, equipment, supplies, and space requirements for main Health Information Management office.
- Develops, reviews and revises medical record policy and procedure.
- Coordinate archiving and indexing of inactive patient records.
- Responsible for all aspects of Privacy Officer for the Network
- Performs privacy audits
- Responds to Value Lines requests
- Approves access to Lourdes data bases/systems
- Orientation and education to all associates regarding Privacy
- Coordinate Coding audits and education to assure compliant coding.
NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
LOURDES HEALTH NETWORK REQUIRED RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES
- Is responsible for becoming knowledgeable and compliant with Department, Hospital, Fire/Safety/Disaster, Educational requirements and Personnel Policies.
- Follow the Corporate Compliance Program and maintains confidentiality standard.
- Demonstrates support and adherence to the Mission and Values Statement of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet as an agent of Lourdes Health Network.
- Participate and support the Continuous Quality Improvement process and provides optimum customer service.
- Is responsible for development and implementation of self-management skills.
This is designated as a safety-sensitive position.
Salary: $39.33 - $55.06
