Job Description

Instrument Co, LLC is seeking a Swiss Machine Expert that is directly responsible for programming, setting up and operating CNC Swiss lathe machines. Join us in our mission of delivering top-quality products while upholding the highest standards of precision machining.


Responsibilities and Duties



  • Develop and write CNC programs for CNC swiss lathe machinery using Partmaker.
  • Set up and operate CNC swiss lathes to produce parts according to blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Observe numerical control displays on control panel and compare with data on process plan to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates and speeds of machining cuts.
  • Inspect first run piece and spot checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications. Collaborate with manufacturing team to optimize production processes and ensure high-quality standards are met.
  • Create and maintain documentation such as work instructions, process drawings, and other quality control documents.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to programming, machine operation, and other manufacturing processes.
  • Accurately record programming, setup and run times in ERP system.
  • Provide guidance and training to machinists and operators.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance including maintaining coolant levels and oil levels on machines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
  • Maintain safe work environment by following company safety procedures.

Qualifications



  • 3+ years experience programming, setting up and operating CNC swiss lathes, preferably Citizens.
  • Ability to set up jobs independently.
  • Proficiency in the use of CAD/CAM programs, preferably Partmaker.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and use geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Proficient at reading and understanding mechanical drawings
  • Must have proficient knowledge of various CNC controls and M and G code
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
