Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Legal Nurse for our Mass Torts department. This is a full time position. This is a great position for an individual who would like to use their medical / nursing knowledge and background to assist the injured without having to practice in a medical environment. No legal background is required. The hours can be flexible for someone pursing further education. 35-hour work week.


The position has the following responsibilities:

  • Review, summarize and annotate client medical records and perform comprehensive chart reviews to determine relevancy, and identify proof of injury / diagnosis and medication usage
  • Medication identification in hospital and pharmacy records
  • Identifying medical devices used/implanted
  • Prepare full chronology of client’s medical and injury history
  • Assist attorneys and paralegals with preparation of fact sheets (medical history questionnaires)
  • Follow up with medical providers for missing or partially produced information
  • Additional tasks as assigned


Requirements:

  • Must have demonstrated experience reviewing detailed medical records from hospitals, pharmacies and private medical offices
  • The ability to follow protocol while thinking about the big picture of what an attorney needs to support their case.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work on a team
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing protocols and attorney requests
  • Understanding of current best practices and experience in researching medical data using preferred databases and governmental sites
  • Must be computer literate, specifically with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
  • RN/BSN License required
  • Training for this position will be provided. We are open to all experience levels - from recent nursing grads to those with many years of experience.
  • Salary dependent on experience
