About the Role:
The Mount Sinai Health System seeks a skilled Medical Records Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our coding department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient records. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

Responsibilities:
* Review and code complex inpatient and outpatient records utilizing ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS guidelines
* Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement
* Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate documentation
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance coding practices

Requirements:
* 0-2 years of experience in medical records or coding
* Proficiency in automated coding software
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
* Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred

Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $37.9781 - $37.9781 hourly, depending on experience and qualifications.
