Job Purpose

Lead and oversee all aspects and activities of ERS (Equipment Reliability & Stability) Stability Group. 

Directs group activities to assist in providing regional standards and strategies for production equipment with a focus on driving improved production characteristics for the NA region. Consider all elements required to maintain stable production, including documentation, and PM/spare parts optimization. Identify horizontal countermeasures to the region based on root cause analysis of local failures. Feed information from past problem history back to the origin source via the regional ERS team to ensure recurrence prevention is a consideration in new equipment spec/design.
 

Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure understanding and execution of Core Roles & Responsibilities (R&Rs) for each direct report
  • In keeping with Honda Philosophy, develop individual and/or team talent through regular guidance, regular feedback and development planning    
  • Utilize ERS team (working with LO engineering/MESD) to resolve chronic downtime and complex problems through technical support and/or actual countermeasure implementation    
  • Support N.A. direction for ERS workflow, prioritization, work input, progress tracking, and R&R
  • Participate in regular communication meetings with ERS Leadership Team to build consensus
  • Prepare weekly ERS and Trouble Reports
  • Share local trouble items with ERS, HCM, HDMC, and Japan as needed for horizontal counter-measure application    
  • Submit and manage trouble budget projects (former warranty) from a regional viewpoint that originated from a local failure     
  • Help ensure consistency across N.A. region to drive effective RCA, RP, and C/M activity    
  • Utilize ERS  team (working with LO engineering/MESD) to propose updates any equipment and/or maintenance related standards including EOL/EOS    
  • Supports personnel activities of group, such as recruitment, hiring, succession planning, performance evaluations, and performance management.    
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (concentration in Manufacturing a plus) or related equivalent experience
  • 8-15 years of technical/engineering work experience in Manufacturing (focus in specialized area a plus)
  • Understanding of Honda business acumen
  • Hands on experience understanding  
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills to communicate effectively both with customers and internal project team
     
Working Conditions
  • Hybrid position, located at ELP with expectation of being on-site as the primary work location
  • 80-90% office, 10-20% production floor (go to the spot), 10-20% remote
  • Travel as required to other auto plant sites or key Honda suppliers
