Special Education Teacher - SpEd - Elementary School

PAY:

$1875.00/Weekly Gross

$50.00/Hourly

37.5 hours /Week

MORE ABOUT THE SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER:

CareerStaff Unlimited partners with companies around the country to raise the bar in healthcare by setting new standards for quality care and personalized service. Responsibilities for this Special Education Teacher opportunity include, but are not limited to:

    1. Developing compliant IEP's, progress reports and other state specific required special education documentation
    2. Facilitating and leading collaborative special education meetings such as annual IEP meetings
    3. Using provided resources to ensure accommodations and modifications for students with disabilities such as assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text
    4. Make modifications and accommodations to Stride K12 lessons and assessments as specified by the IEP
    5. Ensure inclusion and success of student in the general education classroom
    6. Collect data and work samples to monitor student progress towards Individual Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives
    7. Document all contact with parents and interventions with students
    8. Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment as needed
    9. Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students
    10. Commitment to personalizing learning for all students
    11. Demonstrate a belief in all students' ability to succeed and meet high expectations
    12. Maintain grade book ensuring student academic integrity, makes student placement and promotion decisions, and alerts administrators to concerns about student performance and progress
    13. Prepare students for high stakes standardized tests
    14. Understand that a primary responsibility is to establish and maintain positive rapport with families and regularly communicates with and responds to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner
    15. Support learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional issues, as well as basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom environment that is in line with academy policies and procedures

  

JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER:

  1. Current WA Special Education Teaching Certificate
  2. Experience teaching Special Education is preferred
  3. Fingerprinting/Background completed with OSPI
