Part-Time hours: During typical hours.
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Collect and assemble records/data into the prescribed format.
- Analyze data to ensure records meet regulatory and hospital standards.
- Implement practitioner completion process.
- Uphold levels of security and confidentiality to execute appropriate release of information.
- Codes and classifies data sets according to ICD, DPT, and DSM guidelines using the 3M Coding Software package.
- Maintains current knowledge of guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements.
- Must possess a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a related field of study or requisite relevant experience.
- Must have a Coding Certification (CCS, CCA, and/or CPC) and be RHIT or RHIA or be test eligible (meaning you already have an Associate degree).
- Three to five years of inpatient record experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred. Acute inpatient psychiatric setting preferred. Two years of inpatient coding and classification experience in a behavioral health/medical setting preferred. Must demonstrate working knowledge in ICD, CPT, and DSM.
