What We Need

  • \t\tBA/BS and/or master’s degree in business administration, Engineering, or related field or a law degree. \t \t
  • \t\tMinimum 10 years of broad experience as a leader; familiarity with the areas of utility strategy such as resource planning, customer experience, transmission and distribution, revenue strategy, and rates. Experience with managing performance and integrating data analytics into business decisions. \t
What You’ll Do At LIPA The Director of Strategy and Performance Management is responsible for Strategy, Performance Management, and Data Analytics. The Director fosters collaboration, strategic alignment, and integrated planning and execution across multiple functions at LIPA. The Director’s responsibility for Strategy includes managing the collaborative process to develop LIPA’s 5-year Roadmap to meet the Board’s Policy objectives with LIPA’s officers and PSEG Long Island. The Director’s responsibility for Performance Management includes leading LIPA’s Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO). EPMO manages LIPA’s process for translating the 5-Year Roadmap into annual Work Plans for LIPA staff and Performance Metrics for PSEG Long Island. The EPMO is also responsible for planning the deployment of project management resources to support key priorities. EPMO further leads LIPA’s Business Process Optimization (BPO) efforts, which is a new initiative. The BPO will work with LIPA departments to review performance improvement opportunities and make recommendations to enhance people, processes, and technology to advance the Board’s Policy objectives. The Director is expected to look across the company and industry to identify best practices and opportunities to drive value for our customers.  The BPO is also responsible for tracking progress on these initiatives, including Work Plans and Performance Metrics, and recommending actions to be taken when risks are identified. The Director’s responsibility for Performance Analytics includes building and managing LIPA’s data analytics practice and integrated business performance and financial reporting. This function partners closely with organizational and functional leaders to drive business performance improvements through data. This function drives continuous improvement by providing operating managers with information to make decisions. It also enhances the prioritization of LIPA’s funds through better information for budget planning and budget variance reporting.  This position will work closely with the LIPA leadership team to reinforce the values of continuous improvement and ensure each department successfully delivers LIPA’s corporate objectives.
