Role and Team
- Reporting to the Body Shop Manager or designated supervisor, the Paint Technicians perform painting and refinishing of repaired vehicles while maintaining high standards for efficiency and observing all safety requirements. Perform all additional duties assigned by the Body Shop Supervisor or Manager. Must know, practice, and ensure that company policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal laws are followed always.
Responsibilities
- Reviews repair plan R.O. as assigned
- Repairs vehicles per R.O. and in accordance with OEM standards
- Inspects body work for imperfections prior to surface prep
- If necessary, may be required to paint prep
- Performs mold release preparation on raw plastic bumpers as necessary
- Properly mixes and performs proper color matching
- Applies base and clear coat to assigned areas including blending and feathering as required
- Inspects refinish areas for imperfections and addresses each as necessary
- Manages the collection, disposal, and storage of hazmats
- Maintains spray booth and equipment
- Maintains and wears all required safety and health PPE
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience in an automotive body shop required.
- iCAR certifications preferred.
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid drivers license.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Must have the ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools.
