Job Summary and Qualifications

The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. As a vital part of the patient care team, the Respiratory Therapist performs a variety of diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures and monitors patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation. Also responsible for P.O.C. Testing, arterial punctures, blood gas analysis, and QC on the blood gas equipment.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

A. Education/Skills

Associates Degree required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

B. Experience

Minimum 2 years critical care experience.

C. Licenses, Registrations and/or Certifications

Respiratory Care Practitioner with current RRT license.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire from an HCA approved vendor.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 90 days from an HCA approved vendor.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 120 days of hire.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 120 days of hire if working in NICU.
