Title: Registered Nurse – RN Triage Nurse
Job Type: Permanent / Direct Hire
Setting: Outpatient – Internal Medicine
Location: Lowell, MA
Schedule: Full-time, M-Thur 7:30-4PM (some days might work until 5pm) and Fridays 8am-1pm
Pay: $34-38/hr and benefits package to include 401k, superior PTO and 13 observed paid holidays

The Triage Registered Nurse will be responsible for inbound and outbound calls for an internal medicine practice. Duties to include but may not be limited to:
- Answering inbound calls and portal messages from nurse line to patients seeking advice on symptoms
- Utilizes decision making protocols about dispositions such as making an appointment or seeking high level of care
- Outbound calls per physician request on results or directives, talking to pharmacies, obtaining prior authorizations, ordering diagnostic imaging, and prescriptions refill requests
- Managing the vaccine, medical waste, drug samples, diabetic equipment and supplies
- Assisting with medical record and patient consent form requests
- Patient education

REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 3 years of nursing experience. Must have recent outpatient / physician office experience; triaging experience is preferred
- Diabetic / Endocrinology experience is a plus
- MA Registered Nurse license
- Professional telephone etiquette
