To be eligible for Skills for Chicagoland’s Future’s services, candidates must reside in Chicagoland (Cook, Lake, McHenry, Kane, Kendall, DuPage, or Will County in Illinois), and be either unemployed or underemployed, defined as working fewer than 32 hours per week or outside their field.
Aside from crafting quality seating products for over 125 years, Freedman's mission is to provide growth opportunities for their employees. Their diverse workforce is 85% BIPOC and women in all areas of their business. Freedman has a strong focus on community, investing in community events like the Chase Corporate Challenge, Feed My Starving Children, an annual health fair, and providing free flu shots.
Job Highlights- Reads orders and follows blueprint instructions
- Builds assemblies to specified bill of materials (BOM); ability to use hand tools and power tools to assemble seats
- Obtains parts for assembly by way of blueprint, pick list, and/or order
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Candidate Profile- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and walk frequently
- Ability to use a computer to access blueprints and CAD drawings
- Must have strong math and measurement skills
- Ability to read English
