Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team for the 24/25 school year. As an OT, you will work part-time, providing services to students across two locations in Tucson, AZ. This position involves working with a caseload of 25 students from Pre K to 8th grade, addressing their individual needs to support their educational and developmental goals.

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual motor integration, and other areas of occupational performance.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment findings, in collaboration with the IEP (Individualized Education Program) team.
Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in both individual and group settings, addressing areas such as handwriting, self-care skills, sensory regulation, and social participation.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom and home environments, ensuring carryover of skills and strategies.
Monitor students' progress regularly and adjust intervention strategies as needed to support their continued growth and success.
Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other required paperwork in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Participate in IEP meetings and other team meetings to review student progress, discuss concerns, and contribute to the development of appropriate educational plans.
Stay up-to-date on best practices, research findings, and professional standards in the field of occupational therapy, participating in professional development opportunities as appropriate.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Arizona.
Experience working with children and adolescents in a school-based setting preferred.
Strong understanding of child development, learning disabilities, and sensory processing challenges.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the school community.
Commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services that promote student success and independence.
