The IT Desktop Support Engineer supports the daily operation of the IT department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. This individual will provide hands on expertise for IT asset management, procurement, PC support , Printer Support, JDE Menu, Dream Writer and security other IT administrative and support tasks as deemed necessary. The Support Engineer person will work closely with decision makers in other departments to support cost-effective and secure technology solutions for all aspects of the organization, minimize down time and support users as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Additional Responsibilities as Assigned)
Operational Management
Act as IT SOX Compliance liaison by maintaining the IT SOX processes to include JDE user security, set up and documentation.
Maintain backups of PC’s and Windows Server data as required.
Provision end-user services, including PC’s, Telephones, PDA’s and other services as required.
Provide end user assistance as required to solve IT software, hardware and service related issues (help desk).
Direct research on potential technology solutions in support of procurement efforts.
Keep current with the latest technologies.
Administration of asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
Provide critical after-hours support when needed.

Education
University degree in the field of computer science or 7 years related work experience.

Knowledge and Experience
Strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems.
Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.
Extensive application support experience with ERP and other business software.
Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Strong understanding of project management principles.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
Keen attention to detail.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Exceptional customer service orientation.
Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Proven analytical, evaluative and problem solving ability
