Job Description:

Senior Commercial Title Examiner responsibilities include examining searches, communicating with agents, customers, and vendors, clearing title, and preparing commitments and updates. Must be capable of reviewing moderate to difficult documentation and preparing title products nationally.

* This position requires regular in-office attendance in Akron, Ohio. Hybrid-office may be considered. *

Essential Functions:

Adhere to Old Republic Title’s underwriting guidelines to maintain compliance.

Communicate with abstractors, examiners, attorneys, agents, and additional vendors as needed.

Examine searches provided by national vendor network, identifying, and resolving title issues and determining insurability.

Prepare commitments, updates, and additional customer products.

Review commitments prepared by Junior Commercial Title Examiners to confirm accuracy and completeness.

Assist with training Junior Commercial Title Examiners.

Ability to manage a pipeline and work queue as assigned.

Consistently meet and exceed all production goals as set forth by management.

Maintain training material and updated state regulation information.

Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management, employees and customers by email, phone and in person.

Complies with Company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements and completes mandatory company compliance training by prescribed deadlines.

At a minimum, the ability to work your scheduled work hours, Monday through Friday.

Ability to work overtime as requested by management.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

Practical knowledge of federal, state and local regulations and procedures governing commercial real estate transactions

Comprehensive knowledge of land records and the ability to interpret data retrieved from various methods including title plants.

Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.

Proficient in property record related sites.

Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.

Ability to work in fast paced environment while successfully performing under extreme time constraints and meets prescribed deadlines.

Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills, with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects.

Ability to act independently with sound judgment and take initiative.

Written and verbal communications are clear, grammatically correct and business appropriate.

Actively listens and is mindful of the role body language, gestures and other nonverbal actions can play in communication.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

Excellent professional written, verbal, listening and communication skills.

Must be a personable, positive, and professional representative of the company.

Ability to foster, develop and maintain professional and collaborative working relationships. Must be able to get along with others, i.e., peers, employees, supervisors, outside customers, and vendors. Lead by positive example.

Physical/Mental Demands:

Required to sit for long periods of time (approximately 90 percent of time on the job).

Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines amid routine interruptions.

The ability to work with confidential information.

The ability to perform under pressure and be flexible with disruptions throughout the workday is required.

Repetitive and continual keyboard activity and interaction with display monitors is required.

Local/daily travel by automobile and overnight business travel by air and/or automobile, may be required.

Sedentary work: The majority of activity in this position involves sedentary work including sitting, standing, twisting, walking and the occasional need to lift or move objects.
