Residential Counselor

Responsibilities of the Residential Counselor
* Oversee physical care of residents
* Development of acceptable habits and attitudes for residents
* Management of resident behavior
* Assist in meeting the goals and objectives of any resident service plan
* Responsible for the coordinated supervision of the residents
* Continuous awareness and ability to give a report of each resident
* Maintain structure and regulations at all times
* Completely and accurately document any required forms
* Perform waive testing on residents after home visits, runaways, and as needed with complete accuracy and compliance
* Attend all training mandated and continuously pursue training opportunities to meet standards
* Other duties as assigned by the CEO, Director of Program Services, and Director of Residential
* Ability to work on the weekends

Qualifications of the Residential Counselor
* High School Diploma and six months experience working with children
* Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services OR actively pursuing the degree
* Knowledge and understanding of the organization’s mission and values
* Ability to support constructive resident-family visitation and resident involvement in community activities
* Ability to provide services in a culturally and linguistically competent manner
* Possess the temperament to work with and care for children, and youth, some with special needs in multiple age ranges
* Ability to accurately collect, review, and analyze waive testing of residents after home visits, runaways, and as needed

Logistics of Position:
* Bristow, VA (Parking available)
* Saturday and Sunday: 12 hours shifts either 6:30am-6:30pm or 6:30pm-6:30am
* Two 8 hour weekday shifts: from 2:30pm-10:30pm or 10:30pm-6:30am

Pay: $19.31 - $20.26 per hour
