Job DescriptionJob DescriptionResponsibilities of the Residential Counselor
  • Oversee physical care of residents
  • Development of acceptable habits and attitudes for residents
  • Management of resident behavior
  • Assist in meeting the goals and objectives of any resident service plan
  • Responsible for the coordinated supervision of the residents
  • Continuous awareness and ability to give a report of each resident
  • Maintain structure and regulations at all times
  • Completely and accurately document any required forms
  • Perform waive testing on residents after home visits, runaways, and as needed with complete accuracy and compliance
  • Attend all training mandated and continuously pursue training opportunities to meet standards
  • Other duties as assigned by the CEO, Director of Program Services, and Director of Residential
  • Ability to work on the weekends
Qualifications of the Residential Counselor
  • High School Diploma and six months experience working with children
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services OR actively pursuing the degree
  • Knowledge and understanding of the organization’s mission and values
  • Ability to support constructive resident-family visitation and resident involvement in community activities
  • Ability to provide services in a culturally and linguistically competent manner
  • Possess the temperament to work with and care for children, and youth, some with special needs in multiple age ranges
  • Ability to accurately collect, review, and analyze waive testing of residents after home visits, runaways, and as needed
Logistics of Position:
  • Bristow, VA (Parking available)
  • Saturday and Sunday: 12 hours shifts either 6:30am-6:30pm or 6:30pm-6:30am
  • Two 8 hour weekday shifts: from 2:30pm-10:30pm or 10:30pm-6:30am
