Yard Administrator Lead

General Purpose:
Support the daily operation by assisting management and providing direction and leadership to the operational team members. Coordinate the daily plan across shifts and address other operational issues as required. Lead, motivate and listen to team members and management in order to effectively maintain and improve efficiencies of the yard operation.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily activities and dispatching of all scheduled loads to the plant. Communicate to staff these schedules and ensure that the order is made. Resolve any issues that may arise in a timely manner and keep management apprised of any issues
- Maintain all systems that correspond with the operation and scheduling of loads to Portales Plant, as well as, empty tankers of all categories. YMS, HMI, yard checks, audit and shuttle reports
- Maintain accurate spreadsheets with daily audit information, dispatched loads to plant. Enter all information into appropriate systems
- Ensure all documentation is within required compliance of the plant and PMO. This includes, but is not limited to, manifest, sample vials, weight tickets and laboratory testing information
- Work with haulers to ensure timely delivery to the plant and maintain the maximum efficiency of the haulers for support to the shuttle operation, LUL and slip seats
- Keep an open line of communication with haulers and other DFA departments concerning all events and any problematic issues that could affect normal operations
- Coordinate with appropriate hauling individual to help resolve any issues or concerns between hauling companies and the yard operations and/or with the plant. Document and turn into management
- Oversee internal tanker washing (CIP) facility to ensure proper chemicals, pressure, and all processes are being followed. Help assist with the external washes and maintaining them to reach the daily goal
- Support a positive culture that fosters high performance and exemplifies positive and team-oriented values in daily activities. Work closely with all phases of the staff, hiring, training, scheduling, overtime and evaluating each staff member (pros/cons) for staff performance reviews
- Work closely with all personnel from the plant, lab, receivers and management and support their operations to ensure accurate information (documentation) and daily orders are being met. Coordinate with others to help determine if additional support is needed during winter months to maintain the flow of loads through plant. (nozzle thawers, pushers, etc.)
- Promote a safe working environment with haulers, vendors and other personnel on DFA property or working with DFA equipment

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience
- High school diploma and 2-5 years relevant transportation/logistics operational experience
- Proven, successful leadership abilities
- 1-3 years of supervisory/management experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Certification and/or License – N/A
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Able to manage multiple priorities and functions
- Able to promote a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of the milk industry beneficial
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
