Job Title: Dean of Instruction

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Dean of Instruction to lead our instructional division at Clovis Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the educational processes and administrative activities of the division, providing leadership for the advancement of effective instructional programming, and overseeing the development of class schedules.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, and manage the instructional programs and activities of the division
  • Provide leadership for the advancement of effective instructional programming
  • Oversee the development of class schedules
  • Direct and coordinate communications, instructional planning, and other initiatives to meet college and student needs
  • Manage assigned functions to ensure compliance with District/college policies and procedures and all state and federal codes, educational regulations, and requirements
Requirements:
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study
  • Four years of increasingly responsible experience as an academic administrator or in a faculty leadership role
  • Experience working with African American, Latinx, Native American, and other racially minoritized students and an understanding of how historical patterns of exclusions of these groups in higher education shape patterns of participation and outcomes
  • Commitment to participatory governance, consensus building, and team approach to management
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study
  • Experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and educational technology
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and procedures
