Senior Consultant, Business Strategy and Operations - Washington, DC

$150K - $170K

Pay commensurate with experience.

 

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented Senior Consultant Business Strategy and Operations to join our team in the Washington, DC area. This is a client-facing role where you will have the opportunity to lead high-profile workstreams, manage client engagements, and oversee the creation of deliverables from inception to completion. You will be working with a federal agency undergoing enterprise-wide change, offering a unique chance to engage with senior executives and influence significant transformation initiatives.

 

Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities required:

  • 6-8 years of experience, preferably in a federal setting.
  • Prior experience in a PMO or project management role.
  • Experience working with the IRS is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Prior experience in management consulting, strategy consulting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Change management certification is highly desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Proven track record in business process improvement, governance work, policy analysis, and change management.
  • Ability to analyze complex data, trends, and information to derive insights and develop strategic recommendations.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing strategic plans that align with organizational objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex ideas and recommendations clearly.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Lead a small delivery team to service client needs effectively.
  • Lead workstreams and manage client engagements, ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
  • Oversee the creation of deliverables such as reports, presentations, process flows, project plans, operational guides, best practices, change management plans, and communications plans, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client expectations.
  • Provide ongoing support and expertise to clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Serve as a facilitator, working directly with clients to guide and implement strategic initiatives
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and support project management activities across various transformation and change management initiatives.
  • Apply strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions to complex business challenges faced by clients.
  • Conduct research, analyze data, and develop strategic recommendations to improve business processes and governance practices.
