The Sr. SW Automation Engineer / Lead will assist the team in designing, developing, executing, and monitoring a robust suite of automated tests for The Ecolab’s suite of products.  With our engineering team placing a huge focus on automated testing, this role will require you to apply your development and test experience to thoroughly validate our cloud-based services by implementing new automation tests and expanding existing tooling where appropriate. You will be designing and creating tests that will cover all aspects of the product, and on different platforms, web and mobile.

This position is based in St. Paul, MN

What You Will Do:

  • Be part of an Agile delivery team, planning, executing, and maintaining relevant, reliable, and robust automated tests that support a cloud-based solution.
  • Develop and maintain tooling that will be used to design, build, and run automated test suites as part of a continuous deployment infrastructure with zero-downtime releases to our customers.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain a library of automated tests for both the web and the mobile platforms.
  • Act as a thought leader with respect to test and automation design within the program, sharing knowledge and experience across delivery teams.

 What would make you the ideal candidate?

  • You are a subject matter expert in automation development and integration.
  • You have a proven success record in developing & maintaining automation frameworks and automated tests in CI/CD environments.
  • You have experience testing against one of the major cloud environments: Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud
  • You are great at working with global teams.
  • You like to nurture and lead a group of people in setting and accomplishing goals.
  • You like to use data to get management buy-in and still have the common sense to make yourself understood.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years experience; or no degree and 12+ years combined education and equivalent work experience (typically 1 year experience = 1 year education).
  • 5 years’ experience developing, executing, and triaging automation scripts to validate software.
  • Expert knowledge with various programing languages and development tools:  Java, C#, Cucumber, Selenium, Appium, Rest Assured
  • Solid understanding of Software Quality Assurance (SQA) concepts and practices to continually assess the risks and quality of products.
  • Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking skills, detail oriented with the ability to drive tasks to completion and on schedule.
