JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE/DEPARTMENT: Coffee Shop Manager - Mojo Coyote Café/Cabinet Mountain

POSITION TYPE: Full time - Year round

PAY RATE: $19/hour

SUPERVISORY: Yes SUPERVISED BY: Food & Beverage Director / FOH Operations Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the management of the daily operations of the Mojo Coyote Café and seasonal operations of Cabinet Mountain.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Manage all costs associated with operations (coffee, food, retail, retail food) within annual budget constraints.
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of all staff.
  • Clearly set employee expectations including policies, daily procedures, service standards, tipping procedures with staff upon hiring.
  • Expected to follow and enforce all of Schweitzer's policies per the employee handbook and division standards.
  • Directly responsible for ensuring the opening/closing of the coffee shop is properly facilitated and on time with posted service hours.
  • Create unique menu offerings for food and coffee.
  • Responsible for maintaining consistent & quality standards of service as well as adhering to all Idaho State health codes.
  • Conduct administrative duties including but not limited to budget drafting, inventory, costing, ordering, safety meetings, restaurant data management, and employee evaluations.
  • Capable of filling in any of the following positions as needed barista, food prep, busser, cashier.
  • Knowledge of operating point of sale system and cash drawer procedures.
  • Expected to work high-volume workdays e.g., weekends and holidays during peak season.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Combined standing and walking for up to 10 hours per shift.
  • Will bend, squat, kneel, climb, twist, and reach above shoulder level frequently.
  • Lift 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Exposure to boiling water and steam frequently.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct all end of month inventory cycle counts on time.
  • Maintain or exceed company Employee Opinion Survey scores.
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings and monthly job hazard analyses.
  • Responsible for monthly inventory of all products while maintaining strict inventory controls.
  • Responsible for all FOH inventory transfers. Accurately order, receive/check product deliveries & maintain appropriate pars. Accurate and consistent cash handling skills.
  • Alter labor/staffing levels according to business levels.
  • Ensure accuracy of all paperwork and cash drawers before sending to accounting.
  • Place orders for liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and bar/service supplies within lead time constraints.
  • Maintain clean and presentable service/dining area as well as a clean and uncluttered workspace.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

SKILLS:
  • Must have excellent interactive skills with guests and co-workers as well as a positive attitude.
  • Motivated self-starter that does not require direct supervision.
  • Ability to eloquently communicate with guests and staff about all products in the shop including food, coffee, retail, and retail food.
  • Must have computer literacy and be able to use multiple software programs and features.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and direct team members and create an enjoyable work environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective, professional, and harmonious relationships with guests, managers, supervisors, and staff.

EDUCATION: High School Degree or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: 2 years barista experience, 2 years general F&B experience, 1-year supervisory F&B experience.

LICENSE NEEDED: ServSafe (can get during employment)

MACHINES/TOOLS OPERATED: Espresso machine, blender, knives, grinders, speed oven, POS, Windows based computer using Excel, E-time payroll.

JUDGMENT/MENTAL COMPLEXITY: High
