How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
The Senior Technical Product Engineer role will play a key role in the Flight Schedules domain on the Network Tools team, responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting the applications used by the Network Planning department. You’ll leverage cloud-based infrastructure to implement technology solutions that are scalable, resilient, and efficient. You will collaborate with System Engineers, Data Analysts, DBAs, cross-functional teams, and business leaders. You will architect, design, implement and operate business solutions, using Agile methodology, that empower users to make informed business decisions. The ideal Senior Technical Product Engineer will have experience working in AWS cloud environments. This individual will have worked in an Agile / Scrum / Kanban environment, partnered with business stakeholders (Product Owners, Product Managers) in defining agile requirements (Epics, Features & Stories) and enabling agile teams to deliver.

Our global network spans six continents, 61 countries and 334 cities. With our partner airlines, our reach expands to 177 countries and over 1,000 cities worldwide. We operate a fleet of nearly 1,300 aircraft and conduct approximately 6,000 flights per day. Network Planning has and continues to play a pivotal role in developing and sustaining Delta's presence around the globe. They do that by analyzing traffic demand, economic environments, and markets around the world to determine three major areas: Markets Delta will operate in; depth of service within each market; aircraft type and schedule for each market. Network Planners decide how many routes we fly, how many times per day and with what size of aircraft. Decisions are made based on a variety of factors from recent financial performance and competition to alliance relationships and beyond. Planners partner with Schedulers to produce a schedule that uses the right aircraft, in the right market, at the right time to meet our customers' demands. This process begins a year in advance of each flight, and we constantly refine schedules up to 45 days prior to flight dates to respond to changes in the marketplace.

The Technical Product Engineer is responsible for managing end to end design, development, production, enhancements, and support of Products within Flight Schedules domain.
