Requirements:

· Must be comfortable in a busy, fast paced acute psych hospital.

· Adaptable, Team player, versatile.

· Patient population is all adult: 100 level are depression and suicidal – 200 level are severe mental illness – 300 level are mix of both.

· Small detox unit as well.

· Must be able to float between units.

· Med cart, pass meds, admissions, discharges, patient assessments. (10-15 daily)

· Fast paced. May have to deal with aggression with some physical holds.

· No IV or Wound Care.

· 40 % voluntary admission and 60% committed patients (temporary 8 days then transferred).

· Approximate ratio 1:12 – At least 2 nurses per unit.

· Sometimes 1 RN and 1 LPN.

· Handle with Care certification required but can provide that onsite if needed.

· 1-year recent Psych experience required.

· Minimum 1 years recent Psych experience required.

· Active RN license or BLS.

· Experience using MS Office and other Windows-based computer.
