Overview

Our Fortune 200 client headquartered in Houston, Texas is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Project Estimator to join the Renewable Energy space. The Project Estimator will play a crucial role in assessing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and supporting the planning and execution of construction projects. Specifically, this person would help in the creation of facilities and plants across the US. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of construction processes, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to understand project scope, requirements, and objectives.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to identify materials, labor, and equipment requirements.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of project components to prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead expenses.
  • Utilize industry-standard estimating software and tools to develop accurate project cost projections.
  • Work closely with procurement teams to obtain quotes and pricing for materials and subcontractor services.
  • Provide support during bid preparation and proposal development processes.
  • Continuously monitor and update cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle, incorporating any changes or modifications.
  • Assist in value engineering efforts to identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing quality or performance.

Requirements

  • Experience with Procore and P6
  • Proven experience as a project estimator in the construction industry, with a strong track record of producing accurate cost estimates.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex project requirements and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator) are a plus.
