Executive Chef Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and innovative

Executive Chef

to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. As the Executive Chef, you will oversee all back of house operations, ensuring top-quality dishes, inspiring presentation, and memorable flavors.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Culinary Leadership:

Execute creative menus that showcase seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.

Oversee kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.

Mentor and guide kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Quality and Presentation:

Maintain the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.

Innovate and create new dishes while respecting traditional flavors.

Ensure consistency across all dishes served.

Inventory and Procurement:

Manage inventory levels, ordering, and vendor relationships.

Source high-quality ingredients while optimizing costs.

Monitor food waste and implement strategies for reduction.

Kitchen Safety and Hygiene:

Uphold strict food safety and sanitation practices.

Train staff in proper handling, storage, and cleanliness.

Comply with health regulations and maintain necessary certifications.

Financial Oversight:

Develop and manage kitchen budgets.

Analyze cost reports and adjust operations as needed.

Collaborate with management to achieve financial goals.

Team Development:

Recruit, train, and retain skilled kitchen staff.

Foster a positive and motivated team culture.

Encourage professional growth and skill development.

Menu Development and Creativity:

Create seasonal menus that excite and delight guests.

Experiment with flavors, textures, and presentation.

Stay informed about culinary trends and incorporate them into the menu.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Minimum of

5 years

in culinary leadership roles, including experience as an Executive Chef.

Culinary Expertise:

Proficient in various cuisines, techniques, and flavor profiles.

Leadership Skills:

Ability to inspire and guide a diverse kitchen team.

Creativity:

Passion for culinary artistry and menu innovation.

Adaptability:

Thrives in a dynamic kitchen environment.

Certifications:

Culinary degree or relevant certifications preferred.

General Physical Demands for the Position:

Ability to balance and carry trays, multiple plates, glass racks and glasses.

Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks including constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time.

Must lift, push, and pull about 50 lbs.

Must be able to stand and/or walk for up to 12 hours during a single shift, while possibly navigating ramps, stairs, and elevators.

Managers will also view a computer monitor and type/write on a regular basis.
