Job Overview:


The Trauma Program Nurse Manager collaborates closely with physicians and healthcare professionals to enhance the health outcomes of patients facing complex medical conditions.

This role involves educating patients and their families to effectively manage their healthcare needs.

The incumbent is responsible for facilitating communication, coordinating services, addressing challenges, and optimizing resource allocation while ensuring high clinical quality and cost-effectiveness.

Location:
St Mary's Regional Hospital
Key Responsibilities:
  • Acts as a coordinator for the assigned trauma program, engaging with physicians and nursing staff to ensure all care adheres to evidence-based practices. Provides education to patients and their families during hospitalization and serves as a resource post-discharge.
  • Participates actively in patient care rounds.
  • Works with the director to ensure the program complies with regulatory standards. Conducts chart reviews and gathers data for performance improvement initiatives, planning, and evaluation.
  • Collaborates with the director to create and implement evidence-based policies and standards for the program. Evaluates and develops activities that foster professional growth and ongoing competence among care providers and students.
  • Maintains and analyzes data related to the assigned program, serving as the subject matter expert. Develops and sustains a Quality Assurance program.
  • Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Healthcare, adhering to service behavior standards.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • May be required to assist in other departments based on business needs.
  • May need to be available on-call during scheduled shifts.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval (ACLS/NRP/PALS as appropriate for unit or service).
  • Three years of relevant RN experience.
Preferred:
  • Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Certification relevant to the unit or service.

Physical Requirements:


Ongoing need for the employee to see and read information, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require verbal communication and the ability to hear and understand spoken information, especially during emergencies. Manual dexterity is necessary for operating complex and delicate equipment accurately.

This includes frequent computer use for documenting patient care and accessing information. The role may involve lifting and moving patients, retrieving supplies, and navigating busy environments.
