Job Title: Sr Specialist, Project ManagementJob Code: 10116Job Location: Huntsville, ALJob Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days totaling 80 hours worked and have every other Friday off.Job Description:Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris company, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support IR&D projects in Huntsville, AL.The Project Management Senior Specialist will directly assist the IR&D project director in managing a cross-functional team. This role works with program management and internal stakeholders to scope the work to be outsourced to external suppliers, select qualified suppliers, and provide oversight of the supplier relationship. Additionally, the project manager will have exposure to high level leadership and will advise on project direction in the best interest of the Missile Solutions sector. The Project Manager duties are broad in nature and may encompass multiple phases of functions throughout missile solutions. The Project Manager will also work closely with third-party vendors to ensure timeliness of critical tasks and ensures work remains within the bounds of cost and schedule.Essential Functions:Plan, coordinate and lead program meetings and workshopsManage cross-functional team on behalf of IR&D DirectorManage third party vendor selectionManage third party vendors performance to their commitments along scope, cost, and scheduleManage capital and infrastructure projects accordinglyReport and advise senior leadership on program statusInfluence positive cultural and organizational changePerform cost account/financial management duties as neededPerform business case analysis and justifications.Qualifications:Bachelors Degree and minimum 6 years of prior engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior engineering experience.Preferred Additional Skills:Experience in project management and managing cross-functional teams is preferred.Experience accelerating delivery dates for administrative deliverables is preferred.Some knowledge of Aerojet Rocketdyne (Missile Solutions) product lines is a plus.Experience with earned value program management and risk management is preferred.Background in Engineering and/or technical development is preferred.
