What youll do:

The Triage Specialty Scheduler is responsible for bridging the gap between departments to ensure all high priority appointments are secured timely. The purpose of this position is to provide close attention to our recently discharged, post trauma, and/or post operative patients and reduce scheduling wait times for patients in need of high level injectables or time sensitive referrals.

Duties include utilizing and maintaining worklists, task lists, and all other necessary platforms to house documentation and communication. Responsibilities also include communicating directly with providers, office managers, directors, billing staff and other leadership when there are issues with availability, proper documentation on orders, tasks, and to maintain clear communication for patient needs. This position will also support the Triage queue and the PCC team on any high priority items.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Acts as a support to the Triage Clerks and Patient Care Coordination Team with queue calls- including carrying out all necessary task needs, ISTOP verification.

Manage incoming Triage department faxes- homecare referrals, medication verification/interactions/backordered, dental referrals.

Review lab reports and follow protocol for abnormal results.

Schedules all specialty in office/semi surgical appointments such as Xiaflex

Oversee daily STAT messages received on Teams by reviewing the follow up instructions/information, contacting patients and communicating with hospital PAs/MDs regarding any issues or concerns.

Submit and complete all Medication authorizations, WC portal/cover my meds

Manage the Appointment Needed worklist in EEHR by ensuring all patients are scheduled within 72 hours and maintaining up to date documentation of efforts to reach the patient.

Monitors all MD Task Team task lists in EEHR to alert necessary staff if messages are waiting past an acceptable turnaround time.

Assist in special projects as needed.

Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with patients, clients, co-workers, and management.

All other duties assigned by Operations Director.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience in reception and/or billing as it relates to scheduling, insurance verification policies and procedures desired.

Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented and strong customer service skills required.
