Summary:
Nesco is partnered with a company in Gates, NY, seeking an entry-level or experienced Screen Print Operator. The role involves setting up and operating flatbed manual feed and screen-printing equipment, and interpreting order instructions and drawings to meet job requirements. The operator will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the produced products. The position requires the ability to quickly adapt in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Interested? Core Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Gathers materials, inks, and devices needed per job.
  • Sets up press and adjusts for registration and print quality, assuring guards are in place and functioning.
  • Adjusts, squeegees, floods bar, and other settings for optimal print results.
  • Assures curing unit is set and tests for accurate curing of ink to substrate.
  • Reviews engineering drawings and permanent records to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
  • Inspects product and receives first piece inspection on all steps required.
  • Inspects product based on recommended statistical quality control levels continually.
  • Maintains equipment and materials, keeps record of pieces made, and time spent per job.
  • Responsible for being familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
  • Responsible for the quality of the product produced.
  • Responsible for maintaining lean practices.
  • Responsible for following all safety guidelines and attending all safety training.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly workspace and ensures garbage is removed daily, as well as all components are put away and stored after each press run.
  • Responsible for being cross-trained in other areas, including but not limited to:
    • Sheet/part inspection, assembly, doming, digital imaging, machining, screen preparation, and reclaiming.
  • Cross-trains in other departments and functions are encouraged.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Excellent time management skills with the ability to perform with a consent sense of professionalism and decorum.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Regularly required to sit, use hands, and talk and/or hear on phone and/or computers for periods of time.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision.
  • Regularly required to hear and speak, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance.
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move up to five (5) pounds.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather).
  • Regularly required to work near moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles from toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Knowledge and experience with, but not limited to, the following equipment:
    • Flatbed screen printing equipment
    • Curing units
    • Screen stretching devices
    • Screen exposure devices
    • Screen reclaiming devices
    • Sheet cleaning equipment

Pay:

$16 per hour, based on experience.

Shift

7am - 330pm Monday Friday.
