Position
The Senior Research Associate in the Private Capital division will play a crucial role in identifying, analyzing, and structuring private capital opportunities. This individual will be responsible for conducting in-depth research and due diligence on potential investments, creating detailed financial models, and providing strategic insights to manage investment decisions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in private equity, venture capital, or a related field.
Core Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with deal teams, intermediaries, and companies, to lead and manage private capital investments.
- Perform detailed due diligence, including market analysis, competitive landscape assessment, and financial performance evaluation.
- Build and maintain comprehensive financial models to determine optimal company capital structures and evaluate the operating assumptions, credit profile, and cash flows for proposed transactions.
- Stay abreast of market trends, economic conditions, and relevant industry developments.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing portfolio companies.
- Provide ongoing support and strategic guidance to portfolio companies as needed.
- Communicate research findings and investment recommendations to investment committee.
- Search for new investment ideas through internal screens, industry reports, industry conferences and other relevant sources.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in private credit, equity, venture capital, or a related field.
- Pursuit towards the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or CFA preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully identifying and evaluating private capital investments.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting, valuation, and the fixed income market
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills including the ability to explain complex information succinctly and efficiently.
- Proficient in financial modeling and valuation techniques.
