Associate Director, Data & Analytics
Overview:
The Associate Director plays a leadership role within the Data & Analytics team specifically, and the agency more generally, as he/she oversees the ongoing development and maintenance of the overall data environment that contributes to the full spectrum of analytical deliverables for clients. The role requires a big picture understanding of how to leverage data to generate actionable insights on marketing and media performance, as well as a hands-on role in helping to operationalize data in the context of ongoing client reporting and other analytic deliverables. This is an ideal role for a highly analytical individual who enjoys structuring and solving complex data issues, working cross-functionally in a dynamic agency environment, and has a passion to significantly shape the organizations approach to data-based decision making.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of the data environment including integration of disparate data sources (e.g., digital media platforms, web analytics, CRM, ecommerce, etc.), data processing, data modeling, data storage and warehousing, automation, etc.
- Develop framework and road map for data collection processes, data model maintenance, reporting automation, and ongoing solution evolution
- Develop and maintain methodologies that contribute to a high-level of data accuracy, quality, etc. that can be leveraged consistently and efficiently across clients and campaigns
- Investigate, triage, and resolve data-based issues, as well as identify opportunities to streamline and automate data-related processes
- Identify and implement new tools and technologies that contribute to growing capabilities and/or improving efficiencies
- Lead a team of analysts in enabling and maintaining data and analytic solutions, as well as ensuring their growth and contribution to agency processes and client deliverables
- Partner with cross-department co-workers to foster creative thinking on how data is used and develop new processes that effectively and efficiently help to grow the value of data and analytic solutions
- Identify, initiate and manage relationships with key vendors and technology providers to ensure accessibility and security of data and analytic solutions
- Contribute to cultivating a culture of continuous improvement by providing formal and informal thought leadership related to macro trends, best practices, new tools/technologies, etc. in the data and analytics space
Must Have's:
- 8+ years professional experience in marketing/media data and analytics
- Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) in Marketing Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems or other quantitative-oriented field
- Experience with data engineering and systems architecture including GCP, BigQuery, ETL/ELT, and SQL
- Experience with BI and data visualization tools (e.g., Looker Studio, PowerBI, Tableau, etc), as well as programming experience with Python
- Experience with digital data technologies and capabilities (e.g., DMPs, DSPs, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Adobe Analytics, Matomo, etc.)
- Consulting or Agency Experience: Proven ability to translate business and marketing questions into technical specifications and solutions, as well as ability to organize and present solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
