Key Responsibilities:
The RN/LPN Charge Nurse plays a vital role in delivering quality nursing care and coordinating resident care. Responsibilities include:
  • Conducting assessments and analyzing resident information to implement measures that prevent decline and address behavioral changes.
  • Responding to emergencies and changes in resident conditions, determining the necessary medical attention, and notifying families and healthcare team members as required.
  • Administering medications and treatments, as well as managing orders for medications and equipment.
  • Maintaining accurate electronic health records and updating care plans as necessary.
  • Reporting any instances of abuse or neglect to appropriate leadership.
  • Conducting daily rounds to monitor resident well-being.
Supervisory Duties:
This role includes supervising nursing assistants, certified nursing assistants, and certified medicine technicians.
Work Environment:
This position is situated within a nursing home setting, exposing the nurse to common healthcare conditions and standard office equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Employees must be able to perform essential functions, which may include:
  • Occasional sitting, climbing, and balancing.
  • Frequent lifting or moving of objects weighing up to 10 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
Position Type:
This is a full-time role (1.0 FTE) in a healthcare facility that operates 24/7, including holidays and inclement weather.
Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • CPR certification or the ability to obtain it within 30 days.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in long-term care settings is advantageous.
Compensation:
Competitive salary at $35.00 per hour.
