Production Assembler and Grinder

90-120 day contract with possibility to go full time.

$21/hr

Hours: 6am-2:30pm, OT would be working until 3:30pm and occasional Saturdays

Candidates will be placed into position based on qualifications/experience and business need.

Production Assemblers & Grinders

Duties and Responsibilities

Will perform a variety of jobs fitting together manufactured and purchased parts into subassemblies or complete products

  • Read and understand blue prints and routing to produce parts from them to the required specifications.
  • Transfer cardboard cartons from racking on pallets on the floor.
  • Place labels on cartons
  • Fold cardboard into carton
    Transfer product from off of line, insert product into carton
  • Insert product & transfer onto pallet either on a palletizer or on a pallet on floor.
  • Hand tape small cardboard boxes using a manual pistol-grip taper
    Insert product into carton, tape the top of the box, and transfer onto pallet
  • Responsible for the care of routine maintenance and keeping the work area neat and clean.
  • Follow all rules regarding machine operation and machine guarding.
  • Maintain simple reports on productivity, quality and safety.
  • Assist supervisor and perform other duties as needed and directed.

Operates equipment to buff and polish metal surfaces

  • Stop any machines upon discovery of a problem and make the required adjustments as quickly as possible to minimize downtime.
  • Provide quality control by inspecting workpieces as they come out of the equipment and removing any defective pieces.
  • Operate machinery, including polishing and grinding equipment, to grind any metal workpieces to their prescribed specifications to ensure high-quality products.
  • Finish products by hand using hand tools to ensure the surfaces are filed or finished accordingly.
  • Keep all equipment running by inspecting and performing basic maintenance, including lubrication and cleaning, and scheduling repairs when needed.
  • Perform basic repairs, including replacing parts when they are worn down or broken, within the scope of expected knowledge and expertise.
