Position Overview

As a Senior Environmental Manager, you will report to the Environmental Director or Project Management teams directly. You will provide project management expertise to our various infrastructure projects and our internal project teams. This position requires a high degree of technical knowledge, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong organizational skills to manage complex activities for the environmental team and several projects over a wide geographic area.

Location

This position will require extensive travel and potential relocation. Both options will be considered. Candidates who are only looking for remote work, or unwilling to travel will not be considered.

Responsibilities
  1. Implement programs and procedures to assure the compliance of the company’s domestic construction site with applicable federal, state and local environmental regulations.
  2. Supervise job environmental process and address any potential violations and concerns.
  3. Implement programs, procedures and policies to assure proper environmental monitoring and management.
  4. Assist supervisors, managers and others in obtaining and maintaining environmental permits.
  5. Assist engineering and operations management in planning for compliance of new and modified processes and operations with environmental regulations.
  6. Oversee the drafting and preparation of permit applications and application renewal in compliance with environmental regulations.
  7. Participate in environmental issue investigations, overseeing reporting and implementation of corrective actions.
  8. Develop and implement environmental training programs.
  9. Implement community right-to-know programs relative to the project’s compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
Qualifications
  1. Significant demonstrated experience related to the areas of responsibility for environmental compliance for major transportation construction projects or similar is a plus but not necessary.
  2. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel).
  3. Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, biology, or related field.
  4. Minimum of 7 years of industry experience in environmental compliance, working knowledge of environmental codes and standards.
  5. CPESC Certification is a plus.
  6. ISO 14000 certifications is a plus.
  7. Detail oriented, flexible, and highly motivated.
  8. Strong work ethic and professional demeanor.
  9. Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
  10. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  11. Must be team player but able to work independently to meet intense deadlines, goals and objectives.

  6. May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.

Base Compensation: $110,000/yr - $175,000/yr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location).
