We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Language Specialist to join our team in the SJO19 Site - AFZ. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing language assets’ logic and coherence, grammar and punctuation, spelling, consistency, style, language usage, and formatting, improving customer streaming experience with Amazon language solutions and process-centered approaches. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, proofreading and editing risk reports, engineering correspondence, and a variety of other written and electronic communications.
IMPORTANT: This is not a remote position; you are required to work on site. Open to Costa Rica applicants expected to work from the SJO19 Site in AFZ.
Key job responsibilities- Conduct Linguistic Quality Assurance check based on Multidimensional Quality Metrics - MQM on audio, subtitles, narratives, video, and artwork to ensure overall content quality.
- Assist in the development and implementation of language-related technology/products to ensure consistency and quality of Portuguese language services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand language requirements and provide tailored solutions to meet their needs.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in the field of language services, particularly related to the streaming and entertainment industry.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of language processes and workflows to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's Portuguese language capabilities.
- Provide guidance and training to other team members on Portuguese language-related matters, sharing your expertise and knowledge.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
- Translation experience in a wide array of formats, including documents, timed texts, and metadata, while preserving the original meaning, style, and tone.
- Advanced proficiency in both Portuguese (native speaker level, C1 level) and English, with a deep understanding of linguistic nuances and cultural sensitivities in both languages.
- Effective collaboration with project managers, auditors, and subject matter experts to clarify context and resolve queries.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and make complex investigative decisions with little to no guidance.
- Demonstrated expertise in providing high-quality Portuguese language services, including translation, interpretation, and linguistic support.
- Passion for the media and entertainment industry, particularly streaming services.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make complex investigative decisions.
