JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

Responsible for supporting the innovative development of business solutions, implemented through IT, to enable the business to meet its objectives. Requires a solid understanding of available IT technologies, the business unit's operations, its operating model, capability needs, and business challenges. Together with support from Entergy's Enterprise Architect (EA) function and IT Centers of Expertise (COE), are responsible for creating a fully integrated, effective business solution. An active thought partner, with the EA and BU CIO to help shape the technology demand among the business unit. This position will provide support for the Maximo application and the applications that it interfaces with. Key business partners include Transmission, Distribution, and Fleet.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide overall design guidelines for software and hardware integration, performance, reliability, operating, and security designs.
  • Support business units, IT Business Analysts, and Enterprise Architects in the creation of project business cases (e.g., success criteria).
  • Capture business capability requirements, functional requirements, and expected service levels from business unit and stated EA solutions to create an actionable Business-IT roadmap.
  • Support BU leadership in identifying opportunities for emerging technologies, through collaboration with the EA function, to enable business strategies.
  • Work with business and IT teams to review test strategies and requirements traceability.
  • Maintain strong understanding of technology needs and solutions for the business unit.
  • Liaise between the client, vendors, project management and the technical team on questions, issues, and revisions to the solution architecture.
  • Advance how IT technologies integrate and interface with Entergy’s vision.
  • Provide support for storms and be available 24x7 to oversee storm applications during weather events.

Minimum education required of the position: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Advanced degree preferred.

Minimum experience required of the position: 10+ years of experience architecting, implementing, and administrating enterprise IT solutions/systems.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:

  • Experience with Asset Management Systems
  • Experience with Work Management solutions
  • Deep understanding and practical experience of industry application solutions.
  • Wide experience in developing customer-centric solutions.
  • Working knowledge in all areas of technology (infrastructure, commercial applications, software development, end-user platforms, IT operations).
  • Planning experience, especially the design of longer term strategies.
  • Ability to communicate and present effectively with all levels in the organization, including executive management.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of integration of other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, Outage Management, GIS)

Preferred Experience:

  • Click Software Work Management experience.
  • Experience in platform architecture, solution design, project envisioning, planning, developing, deployment, security, identity management frameworks, cloud, and scalability.
  • Experience with Oracle; Microsoft SQL, PL/SQL; and/or other RDBMS and Windows, Linux, and/or other server environments.
  • Professional excellence in technical consulting, solution design, project envisioning, planning, developing, and deployment.
  • Strong, persuasive communication and presentation skills.
  • Java, Python/Jython, Oracle SQL, shell scripting, Webservices, Power BI, and/or SharePoint experience.
  • Agile, DevOps, and/or continuous improvement deployment experience.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position:

  • IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.5 (or comparable) Certified is a plus.
