Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Surgical Critical Care Opportunity

Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group is seeking a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Surgical Critical Care team at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center located in Hartford, Connecticut.

Work alongside nine experienced APPs and six Acute Care/Trauma Attending Surgeons to cover surgical, trauma, and neurosurgical patients within a Level 1 trauma system. In this role you will develop and implement critical care plans, perform invasive procedures including central/arterial/dialysis lines, assist with percutaneous tracheostomy/gastrostomy tubes, and coordinate care with consulting services. Members of this team also cover rapid responses throughout the hospital to stabilize acutely decompensating patients and take part in the teaching of surgical residents, medical students, and PA students. The team provides 24-7 coverage of the SICU and candidates should expect shared responsibility on overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts.

The successful candidate for this role should be a detail-oriented team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical critical care environment.

All interested candidates should be board certified and hold an active State of Connecticut license. Nurse Practitioner candidates should be Acute Care trained and certified, have previous ICU experience, and a minimum of two years of NP experience. New graduates with a strong interest in critical care are welcome to apply.
