About the Role

We are actively seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Director of Service to join our dynamic team and lead our Service Department. At AUTEC, we are deeply committed to delivering excellence in service, installation, and preventative maintenance to ensure our clients' car wash operations run smoothly and efficiently, resulting in exceptional customer satisfaction. As the Director of Service, your primary responsibilities will revolve around leading and expanding our service department. This includes driving revenue generation, recruiting & managing a team of skilled technicians, and fostering strong relationships with our valued clients. Your strategic approach, technical expertise, and unwavering dedication to providing exceptional customer service will be pivotal in maximizing department profitability and fueling sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Department Leadership: Provide strategic leadership, actively anticipating business needs, and designing effective solutions to surpass financial goals and drive operational excellence.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure exceptional CSI through timely responses to inquiries and concerns with a courteous and friendly attitude, aiming to resolve issues and strengthen client relationships.
  • Service Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure service excellence, safety compliance, and adherence to industry standards.
  • Financial Performance: Monitor department metrics, analyze data, and implement strategies to enhance safety, quality, and profitability. In conjunction with senior leadership, define and implement a departmental budget and goals. Strive to achieve revenue targets and maintain a healthy profit margin.
  • Business Development: Proactively identify opportunities to expand the client base, increase revenue, retain & grow existing accounts, upsell services, and promote equipment replacement.
  • Operational Performance: Implement effective and efficient processes, establish KPIs, and consistently track and report operational metrics to optimize service department operations and align with organizational goals. Oversee repairs, reloads, and installations of AUTEC car wash equipment and peripherals on time, with quality craftsmanship, and within budget.
  • Workforce Management: Optimize technician scheduling and allocation for efficient resource utilization and timely work order completion. Maintain 24/7 on-call emergency coverage and forecast staffing needs.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, recruit, train, mentor, and motivate a team of technicians, ensuring they have the right technical expertise, customer service, resources, and support to deliver high-quality service to our customers.
  • Training and Development: Facilitate training programs to enhance the technical skills of the service team, keeping them updated on industry advancements.
  • Documentation and Inventory Control: Maintain accurate work order documentation, equipment service history, and inventory transactions for operational efficiency and compliance. Collaborate with the parts department for well-stocked service trucks and proper inventory transfers.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following skills & qualifications:

  • 3+ years of proven experience in a leadership role within the car wash service industry or a related field.
  • Strong technical background and familiarity with equipment maintenance and repairs. Car wash electrical and plumbing experience preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, inspiring and driving a high-performance team.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and a track record of achieving revenue targets and departmental profitability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficient in using computer software and systems for documentation, inventory management, and reporting.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
