A global e-commerce company is looking for a Product Designer to join a complex product space and help integrate regulatory requirements seamlessly into their design ecosystem.

  • Location: Remote PST hours
  • Duration: Ongoing freelance
  • Rate: $65-70hr

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with design partners from other teams to ensure regulatory elements fit seamlessly into their designs.
  • You’ll be co-creating and refining solutions that balance regulatory needs with user experience.
  • Work on integrating complex regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GPSR regulation from the EU) into existing product flows, such as listing process.
  • Ensure safety information is communicated effectively to buyers while maintaining a cohesive user experience.
  • Create clear and compelling presentations in tools like Google Slides or Figma to showcase work in progress.
  • You’ll present and communicate design decisions and concepts effectively to design partners, stakeholders, and engineers.
  • Lead projects from a design perspective.
  • Proactively set up work reviews, manage design progress, and ensure the smooth collaboration of engineers, product managers, and design teams.
  • Be the point person in driving discussions around regulatory design solutions.
  • Navigate global design challenges, understanding how compliance requirements vary by region and how to accommodate them within product designs.
  • You will handle large-scale, complex problems with attention to detail.

Required Qualifications:

  • A strong team player with experience working closely with design, engineering, and product management teams.
  • Proficiency in design and presentation tools like Figma and Google Slides. Experience creating decks and delivering presentations to stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead projects, follow up on tasks, and set up work reviews without needing direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex, multifaceted design challenges, especially in regulated industries.
  • Ability to integrate and visualize regulatory requirements without compromising on design quality or user experience.
