Position: Director of Nursing

Department: Nursing

Hours: 40 hours

Days: five days a week/ flexible time

The Wayne County Care Center is currently accepting applications for the position of full-time Director of Nursing for the County’s 50 bed skilled/intermediate nursing facility.

Responsibilities of the D.O.N.:
  • Planning, organizing and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Department during the shift
  • Keep the facility staff in compliance with Federal, State and local regulations that govern the facility
  • Ensure patient care is handled appropriately; including documentation, assessments and procedures, in a timely manner
  • Ensure care plans and Doctor’s orders are being followed
  • Communicate with staff and other departments to ensure residents are provided with the best experience possible
  • Ensure that staff are mentored to provide constant, quality resident care
  • Handle all supervisory and scheduling issues
  • Participate in facility inspections as needed and perform administrative duties
Requirements of RN supervisor:
  • Valid RN license
  • Minimum 3 years of long-term care experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience in Point Click Care preferred
  • Compassion for and commitment to hospitality, service, and excellence in senior care
  • Ability to be a responsible and dependable team member who can take direction well
  • Adaptable and able to work under pressure
